Kalyan Banerjee accuses CM Suvendu of 'vindictive politics' amid CID's search at TMC central office

CID officials continued their search operation at the Trinamool Congress headquarters at 30B Harish Chatterjee Street in Kalighat on Tuesday as part of the investigation into the alleged forged-signature case. According to sources, investigators are searching for records related to the proposal document that nominated Sovandeb Chattopadhyay as the Leader of the Opposition, a document that has become central to the ongoing probe.

During the operation, TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee arrived at Mamata Banerjee’s residence adjacent to the party office and strongly objected to the CID action. According to reports, he engaged in a verbal confrontation with investigators and also expressed his displeasure in front of media personnel present at the location. The developments added to the tense atmosphere surrounding the search operation.

Senior TMC leaders Kunal Ghosh and Madan Mitra were also present outside Mamata Banerjee’s residence while the search was underway. Their presence drew attention as party leaders gathered at the site during the ongoing investigation. CID officials continued examining documents and records at the headquarters as part of efforts to verify details connected to the alleged signature discrepancies.
